1. Crimp
All you need is a crimp tool, crimp fittings and copper rings to make the connection, and with this tool you can “rough in” the entire system, check it out for fit and appearance, then crimp each connection for performance. The connections form a fast, reliable and permanent seal, and after crimping you can immediately test each fitting to well over 100psi.
2. PEX Expansion
This connection can be cut, fitted and completed in under 30 seconds by just using the ProPEX expander tool, ProPEX fittings and ProPEX rings. The tool quickly allows for expansion of the PEX-A tubing, so the fitting can be inserted making a secure and lasting connection when the PEX-A shrinks back to its original size.
3. Sharkbite
Created for ease-of-use, no tool is required for installation of a Sharkbite fitting. To create the connection you simply push the fittings into the pipe. They are certified to 200 PSI and are approved to be used underground and behind walls without access panels. Designed for hydronic heating and potable water distrubtion, they are versatile and very convenient if you’re in a crunch!
4. PEX Press
To make these connections, all you need is a PEX press tool and PEX press fittings. Making the connection involves simply inserting the press fitting sleeves around the PEX tubing, and placing the jaws of the tool around the fitting until the handles of the tool click. The tool will not release until the fitting is properly crimped, making all connections 100% leak free!
