The EZ Tankless series offers a space saving and convenient source of heated water with simple installation for either natural gas or propane. Water heating can account for 30% of the energy use in a modern home, and an efficient tankless unit from EZ tankless can result in savings of up to 40% versus conventional tank unit. According to the Department of Energy, homes that use 41 gallons or less of hot water daily, tankless water heaters can be 24%–34% more energy efficient than conventional storage tank water heaters.
Tankless units are sized according to the combined flow rate of all fixtures running at peak demand in Gallons per minute. This is matched against the incoming temperature of your water. Watch our video on sizing tankless water heaters to learn more.
For larger residences with between 2-3 bathrooms, the EZ Supreme offers peak performance of 4-6 gallons per minute.
This indoor unit uses direct venting to obtain combustion air from outdoors. This prevents the loss of your conditioned air from the home and reduces air drafts vs a standard chimney vented unit. This is achieved through a sealed system which routes the exhaust through a concentric pipe while the outer chamber of the pipe lets in fresh air for combustion. Extension vent pieces are also available beyond the included through the wall vent kit. For 80% of the installations, the supplied exhaust parts are sufficient.
The exhaust is included with the unit exiting a sidewall. The unit uses common 110 volt AC for power.
For homes with 1-2 bathrooms, The EZ Deluxe unit provides performance output of 3.4 GPM. This replaces a 40-60 gallon water heater. A minimum of 2050 cubic ft of “unconfined” space is required for combustion air.
For installations where electricity is not available The EZ101 and EZ202 units provide hot water suitable for sinks/washing. Power for the electronic ignition comes from 2 “D” cell batteries. There is no standing pilot flame to worry about. These units are natural draft and require a minimum unconfined air space of 4050 cubic feet making these most suitable for outdoor applications.
The EZ 101 unit can provide 1.6 GPM. This unit is able to accept lower incoming water pressures then the other EZ units. This allows usage with low incoming pressures, which is excellent for off grid hook-ups such as sheds, garages, cabins, etc. provided that a propane gas cylinder and a water supply line are available.
The EZ202 boosts the performance of the EZ101 up to 3.2 gallons per minute and it can operate using an incoming pressure as low as 2.9 PSI
Each model should be installed with a sediment filter which will protect the heat exchanger from debris and damage from small particles. It is also recommended to purchase a service valve set to allow for periodic service and flushing of the EZ tankless heat exchanger. It is important to follow all state and local codes when installing a water heater. The heat exchanger is covered for 5 years of installation when installed in a single family residence. When installed in any other setting, the heat exchanger is limited to 1 year. All other parts on the units are covered for a period of 1 year.
