SupplyHouse.com was built on and continues to grow thanks to the people who work here. Every team member brings a unique and beneficial skill set to the table, helping us continue to provide the best service possible to each and every one of our customers.
The Meet the Team page gives a quick introduction to many of us, but through these Employee Spotlights we’ll be able to show off our team with even more detail. With this quick interview, we hope to provide you a better understanding of who’s behind the business and let you see what we already know about our team: that they’re awesome!
So, without further ado, meet Brandon, one of the specialists on our Forecasting team.
How long have you been working at SupplyHouse?
As of July 31st, I will have been at SupplyHouse for two years!
What is your favorite part about working with the company/in the forecasting department?
There’s a lot of analysis and problem-solving in forecasting, so we often need to get creative and approach situations from different angles. I also really love the team dynamic in our department. Each forecaster contributes towards a shared pool of knowledge and experience. We work on our own separate brands and orders, but I know that we can rely on each other if we’re ever uncertain.
What is your family like?
There are five of us–my mom, dad, older brother, younger sister, and me–and together, we’d make the world’s greatest trivia team. We each have an encyclopedic knowledge of a single topic. My dad can tell you how to get to any city in the US and what to do while you’re there. My mom is the celebrity expert: she never forgets a face (or name). My brother can tell you stats about baseball players that retired decades before he was born. And my sister’s watching seemingly every show on Netflix, Hulu, and Prime.
Describe a challenge that you recently had to overcome.
I recently reduced my caffeine intake from 3-4 cups of coffee per day to only one per day (and about 50 cups of decaf/lemon ginger tea).
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
When I’m not at work, I’m either playing music, listening to music, or reading about music. It’s a problem.
What’s something people don’t usually know about you?
My girlfriend and I are trying to become informal ‘experts’ on horror films, so we watch one every week or two.
If you could only watch one TV show, eat one food, and listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would they be?
“Stella,” rice & red beans, and “Madame George” by Van Morrison. “Stella” because it’s totally absurd. Each episode starts with an implausible premise and somehow takes it somewhere even more implausible. I also love Michael Showalter. Rice and red beans because I’ve eaten it for my entire life and will NEVER stop. Bonus points if I can add chicken as well. And “Madame George” because it’s the most gorgeous recording on Earth. Van’s voice is exposed and ragged, even with the lush reverb. And the strings pile up throughout the song until they’ve pretty much consumed his vocal. By the end, he’s howling just to cut through and it melts my heart. It’s an act of arrogance to make something so perfect.
Brandon is just one of the talented people we have on our team. See more of them on the Meet the Team page or learn about our company culture on the Our Team page. This group of people is the reason why SupplyHouse.com has gotten to where we are today. When you need plumbing, heating, and HVAC product, these are the people getting you what you need.
